Beat me to it, nicely done!

  • Joe

I’m not proud of my disease, but I am more interested in the actual mechanics. So, it is sounding like alphas can use the implants they currently have in. So they can use pirate implants if they have them in when the account expires?

I am not sure I understood what she was saying about PI. Can alphas continue to use planets that they have set up as omegas? My best guess is that she said they are still thinking about that but maybe I misunderstood.

Also I assume you asked if they will allow multiple simultaneous alpha log ins and they declined to answer that question, is that correct?

    • Ashterothi

Prior to the interview she pointed out that she is the EP, not the designers, thus the nitty grittys would have to wait for the dev blogs. I wanted to keep the questions high level so she could give quality answers, and show us the overall vision.

      • Rob Kaichin

The most important remaining question being, how long can they delay the dev-blogs for.

        • Ashterothi

Well we should be getting the CSM minutes this week, which should open up a whole bunch of conversations.

  • DireNecessity

Fun interview! Seagull sounds so beguilingly approachable here you might think she was just another EVE fan until she offhandedly responds to your Jesus feature question with “I would probably have killed it as too meta if [the naming scheme] had come as a proposal to do it for that reason.” Seagull’s no mere fan, she’s our executive producer. We’re in good hands.

    • Blaster Boat

      came to say this.

  • Free Can

They drove away half their paying accounts now in desperation are trying to go F2P. Dress it up however you like, that’s what it is.

    • Viince_Snetterton

Yup, and in true CCP fashion, they are screwing up this Hail Mary. We keep hearing about changes to the NPE to welcome this surge of people new to Eve but this whole thing goes hot in less than 8 weeks, and is this new NPE on TQ where it can be battle-tested and then allow time for tweaks? Nope. Whatever plan CCP has will have to be perfect right out of the gate, and given CCP’s track record in such areas, what could go wrong?

Unless CCP manages to dump all new players in the game into the welcoming arms of the null sec cartels (who will certainly prefer returning players and alts over new players), CCP will be air-dropping them into high sec, where they will be facing a huge increase in suicide gankers, and crashing LP and mineral values. You know, the things that new players generally do first: mission and mine.

      • DireNecessity

Hurrah for ‘null sec cartels’ – drink!

    • Blaster Boat

Half their paying accounts.. is really half your paying accounts. There is a difference. Statistically a large difference.

Could you guys hit my popcorn please.

Regardless this is what the game needs now to survive, it seems like they are being as transparent as they can be.

  • Thanks for the interview and updates. Question: If I have an omega that I let lapse into Alpha, can I later extract its skills without having to pay to make him/her an omega again just to do that?

  • slowdive

    Nice interview!

  • Dust Merc

where is the chipmonk ? sounds

  • Bill Bones

Nice interview, but I think it could have been improved if Ashterothi had made a recap of CCP Seagul’s answers after finishing the interview. Something like “this is it, our interview with CCP Seagull, and here’s a recapitulation of what she has shared with us: she said a, b, c, d and f”.

  • Mr Half deaf

The backround music was way too loud…

  • Freelancer117

Good question about whether the implants get to stay in the Alpha clones after use in omega clone status.
If CCP is looking at it on a case by case issue, they will have to spend a lot of resources on that feature :s

ps: has the CSM talked internally about being representative for the new Free to Participate (F2P) capsuleers ?

  • Martin Scoff

Great stuff – thanks all for the interview!
