Spring Cleaning

For whatever crazy reason, Crossing Zebras has been attracting more and more capsuleers with each passing day. The original CZ site was designed by myself using a fairly simple tumblr template with a fairly basic server for our media. Throughout 2012, these both proved to be more than sufficient for our demands. Since the start of 2013, the volume of traffic and the sheer amount of bandwidth required due to the number of visitors to the site has increased exponentially. Something needed to be done and quickly.

Jeg quickly got a new server set up with much increased bandwidth to feed all you media hungry citizens of New Eden. That part was relatively painless – he tinkered away in the back end (smirk) and got all the media ported over without a hitch. Then work began on the new site you are currently looking at. Jeg was the guy who was going to be making the site while I was the guy who knew exactly what I wanted but with none of the requisite technical terms necessary to easily explain it. This is a pretty nightmarish situation for Jeg.

How we got there, I don’t know. Actually, I do – Jeg was incredibly patient and put in an insane number of hours on this project. It would have been a difficult job as it is without me deciding that we needed something else or had to tweak this or that needed adjusted a thousand times. The final result is pretty impressive though if I do say so myself.

We both hope you like the new site. If you do, make sure and let Jeg know. It’s his blood, sweat and tears that have made it happen. If you don’t like any particular aspect of the site, tell us in the comments below and we’ll have a look at it. If anything is broken or not working as it should tell us too and I’ll crack the whip until Jeg fixes it.

Fly safe,

The good looking, funny, intelligent member of the team, Xander set up Crossing Zebras with Jeg in April 2012 mainly because he was talking too much about Eve on his other podcast. Playing the game for almost five years, Xander still has absolutely zero clue about how to actually play Eve but somehow still manages to talk a good game.
