Jin’talks – Caldari Navy Hookbill & Vigil Fleet Issue

Hello everyone, I’m back with another solo PvP guide where – despite Mr Hyde’s threats of cruel and unusual punishments – I’ve forayed back into the mix with a pair of lesser used frigates, fit for use by the fast approaching Alpha avalanche. As with before, I stuck to a little theme, with them both focusing on utilising the offensive control of dual webs to either keep the enemy at arm’s length, or keep them uncomfortably close as they’re rocketed to oblivion. All clips shown were done with no links and in Factional Warfare space, so you’ve got no excuse to not go out and try them!

The Hookbill is the first ship shown, and an absolute monster when you can land those double webs and throw out the pain with heated rage rockets. As explained in the video, people expect you to be the archetypical armour-duel fit, and bring a pair of people to fight you, which this fit perfectly equips you to handle. As long as you pick and execute your fights well, you can get a nice tally of killmarks, with my personal record being nine kills before going down.

The VFI is the second ship shown, and has a more nuanced, dancing approach, staying tantalisingly out of reach of the enemies as it uses it’s long range weapons to rain hell down onto them. Fly fast, fly smart, and be bold. It makes for nail-bitingly close fights at times due to its light tank, but no other ship can do what it does.
