EVE Nerds Play D&D Episode 1

Crossing Zebras has always exclusively been about the EVE Online domain. However, we think it’s time to stop being so tryhard and have a little fun now and then. So, what could possibly be even nerdier than EVE Online? We’re after all known to be to nerds what nerds are to regular people. Apothne has the answer: Make EVE nerds play the holy grail of nerddom – Dungeons & Dragons. Enjoy!

It amazes me how people still play RPGs that work on a systematic which has been replaced to quite some degree by computer games. I like to play pen&paper RPGs but I prefer the ones where story, character and atmosphere are more central than mechanics.

With the right GM and the right group of players, pen and paper RPGs are as much fun if not more so than computer games.
You can go further, make your own plot, run it your way and have a campaign that goes further where a computer game ends.
Give you a seriously geeky example, we all wanted to find out what happened after knights of the old Republic 2, so we just played it out with the Star Wars RPG system.
We even did it with the Empire at War expansion.
