Back offshore once again. Unless my basic arithmetic is out, week 39 equals 3/4s of a year and with candidacy for the CSMX election now open and the Winter Summit now put to bed, it feels like we are in the home stretch of our term. And of course, CSM9’s term is around five weeks shorter because of Fanfest moving to March. I’m not sure how I feel about my term on CSM9 at the moment. I guess a lot of it will depend on whether or not you fine folks elect me onto CSMX.
Election Season
So yeah, it’s that time of year again where the great and the crazy throw their hat into the ring for the next CSM term. If you are considering standing for the next term, everything you need to know is in CCP Leeloo’s dev blog. Polls open in less than a month now which is just around the corner.
Connected to that, there’s been some drama of late. I’m sure you’ve all read FunkyBacon’s posts by this point. EN24 has a pretty decent breakdown of what happened. Here’s what I’ll say on the matter – whilst FB has some valid points, his delivery and the fact he has done more or less nothing to address said points during his tenure makes his opinion ostensibly irrelevant in my opinion. You don’t have any right to complain about the process when not only have you not worked to fix it, you’ve actively made the situation worse.
Unfortunately, being called offshore at very short notice meant I missed my booked CSM interview with the guys over at Cap Stable. Having listened to some of the recent interviews from other current CSMs, I am very much looking forward to sitting down with the guys when back on dry land and giving my own thoughts on how the past term has went. You should definitely be listening to those to have an informed opinion on each of the candidates.
Corporation Little Things
CCP Punkturis is soliciting feedback from the community on the corp UI changes coming in Tiamat. This thread is being watched very closely as part of the fundamental changes coming to corps and alliances in client in the coming months. If you are are involved in running a corp at some level, you should definitely be chipping in here – your feedback is important.
Hyperdunking
tl;dr – it’s legal.
This is one of those grey areas that CCP Falcon has felt the need to clarify. There have been previous GM rulings which suggested hyperdunking was illegal but Falcon has confirmed that since the new Crimewatch implementation, this pushes the rules and was unintended as a gameplay design but no rules are being broken so it is legal. If you lose a ship in this manner, don’t bother petitioning – it won’t be reimbursed. Guaranteed to be even more amazing Bowhead killmails incoming then.
That will do us for this week. Countdown to Fanfest is on!

The good looking, funny, intelligent member of the team, Xander set up Crossing Zebras with Jeg in April 2012 mainly because he was talking too much about Eve on his other podcast. Playing the game for almost five years, Xander still has absolutely zero clue about how to actually play Eve but somehow still manages to talk a good game.
