CSM8 Election Interviews: Ali Aras

Welcome to the twenty-third in a series of thirty minutes interviews with CSM8 election candidates (which can still be booked with me – details can be found here). The twenty-third individual to be interviewed is Ali Aras, a non-bloc affiliated nullsec candidate. Ali is standing on a platform of rebalancing, a better New Player Experience, activity based sovereignty and improved PvE for new players in nullsec.

We discuss a number of issues including what ‘rebalancing’ really means, whether or not she has enough experience to be an effective member of the CSM and her initial thoughts on Odyssey.

About the author

Xander Phoena

The good looking, funny, intelligent member of the team, Xander set up Crossing Zebras with Jeg in April 2012 mainly because he was talking too much about Eve on his other podcast. Playing the game for almost five years, Xander still has absolutely zero clue about how to actually play Eve but somehow still manages to talk a good game.

Finally, a non-bittervet that would bring a positive, fresh-eyed perspective to the CSM.

Best of luck to you Ali. Would love to see someone who isn’t a bittervet, and isn’t aligned with any of the major nullsec power blocs.

Good luck ali, it’s nice to see someone who will bring something new to the table.

  • Ruth Smart

Good interview, brought out issues and opinions.

seems refreshing but only 9 mothns ingame and history of rage quitting, what makes her not ragequit eve/csm when things get old and “booring”?

    • Ali Aras

I’m completely suckered in now 😉 If that was gonna happen, it would have happened the first time I lost a fleet: http://sound.mindflood.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=15807570 …or the second, when it was an entire CVA fleet (tried to find kb link, but they all suck and show us as winning, when in fact our DPS got murdered and we failed the stratop). Or in some of the internal drama I’ve weathered.

I quit the first time because I wasn’t really excited about the game, I wasn’t really playing with anyone else, and I had no idea WTF I was doing and no way to come back from that loss. Now, that’s not the case — even if Providence does, eventually, burn, I’ve got plenty of stuff going on and tons of stuff I still want to try. It’s that transformation and that excitement that made me want to run.
