Crossing Zebras Episode 54

Xander decided at the very last moment to try and get another episode of the podcast out before he headed back offshore again. Unfortunately that meant a few schedules clashed and HVAC and Jeg couldn’t make it. Yeah, I know – gutting. On the other hand, that meant the table was open for some guests and what guests we managed to get! In a slightly more roundtable format that usual, joining Xander this week is CZ writer and BNI luminary Dunk Dinkle, video-maker extraordinaire and PL pilot Hendrick Tallardar, the legendary SNIGG CEO Grath Telkin and the very best man on CSM9, Mike Azariah. Best podcasting five-a-side team ever. (Americans won’t even get that reference.) And there’s plenty to get through. We are deep into CSMX election season and voting is now open! We discuss how the election is going and how different parts of the community view CSM. In the second part of the show, we dissect some of the key announcements from yesterday’s o7 Show and there was a few of them! (Also, apologies to Mike for no k-pop but Xander needed to edit this on a train and couldn’t get one downloaded. Make do with Justin Timberlake.) Crossing Zebras Episode 54.mp3

(0:32) Introductions The Evolution of BNI – We hadn’t planned on discussing this but the show opens with some talk on how BNI has evolved as an entity over the past couple of years CSM Election Season – There’s plenty to discuss with regards to CSM at the moment from some of the different ballots out there to how the CSM is perceived by different entities. We spend some time dissecting what is going on out there MAKE SURE AND VOTE IN THE CSMX ELECTION! If you are so inclined, you can check out Xander’s ballot for the CSMX election here. (43:40) The o7 Show – There was plenty to get through on the o7 from some major ship rebalance changes, in particular to the Ishtar and Tengu as well as some discussion on the long-anticipated new sovereignty dev blog we now know is arriving next week Shoutouts As always, huge shout out to our amazing sponsors at Eve Bet who continue to support everything we are doing here at Crossing Zebras. Big congratulations to the High Drag podcast recording its 50th episode last night! They will be passing CZ in no time at all… And finally, we were very sad to hear about the loss of the amazing RvB pilot and all round good guy Dracoth. Our commiserations to his friends and family. About the author

Xander Phoena

The good looking, funny, intelligent member of the team, Xander set up Crossing Zebras with Jeg in April 2012 mainly because he was talking too much about Eve on his other podcast. Playing the game for almost five years, Xander still has absolutely zero clue about how to actually play Eve but somehow still manages to talk a good game.

Grath is a carpenter, something else he has in common with Jesus.

I remember defanging a POS with 3 shuttles and a couple carriers. Carriers sat safe by a friendly POS. Shuttles, with fighters assigned, warped to the enemy POS. POS aggressed the shuttles, but couldn’t hit them. Fighters just wandered around and incapped all the POS mods aggressing the shuttles. That was plain silly.

Why Bomber… it’s more a issue of bombs, bomb lunchers and bomb mechanics. Those are two diffrent things

    • Dermeisen

This exactly right, the torp bomber has excellent application as a low sp ‘jucy target’ hunting platform.

  • Nyx STeelGamers

Great episode! Getting hyped about the upcoming sov changes feels good.

  • Dermeisen

Something’s seriously up with that sentries tracking discussion, just saying ?..

Getting rid of SP loss for losing a T3 cruiser just because you cried and lost your ships? Seriously, either don’t lose them or find something else to fly. Bad enough that some players cried about the med clones. There is suppose to be a risk verses reward in this game and some of you lazy vets want to water this game down just like blizzard did to world of puss-craft.
