Somehow, through luck or sheer effort of will, the best podcast in Eve Online history (CCP Certified) has been dragged kicking and screaming to it’s 50th episode. It’s a little over two and a half years since Jeg and Xander first sat down to record an episode of CZ and it seemed fitting that they would sit down together again for CZ50 joined by the de facto third member of the podcast, HVAC Repairman. It’s an interesting and happy coincidence that the past month since 49 was recorded and published has probably seen the biggest series of changes to 0.0 mechanics and ultimately, the meta, since the podcast was started in early 2012 and realistically, since Dominion. This gives us plenty of scope to discuss Phoebe, Rhea and the general direction of Eve right now as well as announcing a huge competition with an amazing prize donated from our friends at Eve Bet. On top of all of this, as part of the CZ50 celebrations, Xander is interviewing Elise Randolph, Grath Telkin, CCP Rise and CCP Fozzie. The naturally folds into a discussion about the contents of the CSM9 Summer Summit Minutes. (56:07) Rhea – The next expansion will build upon the foundations laid in Phoebe and some of the details were released at the recently-held Eve Vegas. We discuss the news, some of the details and whether the naysayers have any justification in their ‘slippery slope’ arguments. Note: Xander mentioned during the record that the ‘tug’ (now officially names ‘Bowhead’) statistics weren’t yet publicly available.
