Crossing Zebras Episode 39

A huge episode this week as myself and Jeg sit down with a very special guest, the new Editor-in-Chief of Crossing Zebras, Marc Scaurus. Marc joins us with a wealth of experience and we are very pleased to have him here assuming full control over the editorial direction of the site. Marc had this to say on joining the team:

Back in August of last year I stepped down from an active editorial role (i.e. engaging with writers and making content) at TheMittani.com. Last week, I relinquished all remaining roles at TMC (i.e. business development, PR, ad coordination, etc). I made these moves primarily because of my role at Sony Online Entertainment. For the former, I felt that being actively engaged with producing content or editing content pertaining to Planetside 2 (or any competitors to PS2) would present the wrong image to TMC’s readers. I had barely signed my offer letter from SOE before some members of the Dust 514 community started crying foul. As time has gone on, and SOE ramps up production on its titles, I felt increasingly unable to manage the time intensive processes that make TMC run, so I stepped down altogether.

That didn’t mean I was going to never write or edit again, though. The whole reason I got involved with TMC was that it gave me an outlet to flex my editorial muscles a bit, learn things, and grow as a writer. I’ve missed that – a lot. And so, after having some long talks with Xander and Jeg here on CrossingZebras.com, I’ve joined the team as Editor-in-Chief. I’m looking forward to working with all the writers here and helping to produce some top-notch content for the EVE community. Maybe I’ll even get to write some things here and there.

As well as discussing Marc’s involvement in CZ and the future for the site, we also find time to talk about the newly announced HERO Coalition, the CSM9 election campaign and the candidates who have announced, and the second New Eden Open. Buckle in and enjoy the ride…

About the author

Xander Phoena

The good looking, funny, intelligent member of the team, Xander set up Crossing Zebras with Jeg in April 2012 mainly because he was talking too much about Eve on his other podcast. Playing the game for almost five years, Xander still has absolutely zero clue about how to actually play Eve but somehow still manages to talk a good game.
